We only invite a handful of athletes each season to help propel towards your running and lifestyle goals. This ensures you to get the right amount of attention and guidance throughout your time with us. At DAYBREAK we do things with passion, knowledge and experience.
A PROGRAMME BUILT FOR YOU
We have various plans and packages to suite your individual needs. London based athletes have access to 121 coaching and can attend our free community sessions weekly. This way you also get a chance to see your coach in person, an invaluable part of coaching.
You aren’t in London? No problem, we can coach you remotely online via our coaching platform and regular check ins (phone, skype or face time, whatsapp).
WHAT TYPE OF COACHING DO YOU OFFER?
We offer run coaching from starting out through to ultra distance. Road, trail and mountains. We specialise in getting city based runners ready for mountain adventures.
Our training plans incorporate strength work, technique work and mindfulness sessions, which we guide you through in person. You can access videos and scripts through our coaching platform online and on the go, if you aren’t based in London. Reintroduction into running, for example after a long time off or coming back from injury and Injury prevention can be our coaching focus as well. Years of coaching Triathlon gives our athletes the opportunity to fall back onto swimming and cycling as cross training methods. Motivation, goal setting and how to deal with every day demands are key topics we work on together with you.
This all creates our holistic coaching strategy: helping you to become a well rounded athlete in body and mind. It’s not all about the running. A strong foundation, good technique and a sound mind all contribute to achieving your goals. To ensure you enjoy the sport for a very long time.
Our coaching team holds various qualifications with almost a decade of experience. You can find out more on our Coaches page. We collaborate with experts and can refer excellent nutritionists, physios and specialists in case you need it or we exceed our area of expertise.
HOW DOES GETTING COACHED WORK?
We help you from where you are now to get to where you want to be. We do this with simple and effective coaching methods.
We start with our initial consultation in person on or the phone and our DB Athletic Profiling – an online form for you to fill out in your own time. Assessing your current training and fitness, lifestyle and aspirations. We aim to coach holistically with purpose. We coach you – the person – and not just you the runner. After all there is life outside of running too. Many to come to us to get better at running. They cross their finish lines becoming better at life.
2. GOAL SETTING
Once we have outlined your status quo we get to work on a compelling goal and plot the best strategy. Fitting training around your lifestyle and other demands. Your sessions will focus on building strong foundations, fitness, endurance and speed progressively. Ensuring your athletic development and avoiding overtraining or injury. To achieve your goal we aim to keep you motivated and engaged through a varied programme and regular check-ins.
3. TRAINING PLAN
Your training plan will be accessible online through our coaching platform. All DB athletes receive a free membership to access all sessions and metrics. You can communicate with your coach on the go from anywhere within the app or browser. And you can easily sync workouts via Strava or a running watch. Hassle free and prompt. A registration link will be sent to your e-mail address.
4. DYNAMIC FEEDBACK
Coaching two-ways: Feedback is at the core of our coaching philosophy, regular check-ins will ensure you stay on target and we can juggle your plates when life gets in the way. No training journey is perfect but we’re here to keep you going so you can be in the best shape at the start line. You can evaluate each session on our coaching platform for your coach to see insights beyond metrics. You’ll learn to get into the habit of writing a brief weekly performance review and your coach will check in with you bi-weekly on everything, to make adjustments if needed.
5. MENTAL TOOLKIT
During your time with us you will also develop your own mental toolkit for training and racing. The right mindset can help you achieve your goal with ease, deal with set backs and worries; and thrive in peak training weeks.
